Melchett/Cadman Lectures
Sir Frank Chapman, Chief Executive, BG Group is this year's recipient of the EI's prestigious Cadman award where he will gave a presentation on issues that matter to the energy industry today. This will be held on 27 June 2012 at Kings Fund, London. Attendance at this event is free, but pre-registration is vital.

Who receives the Medals?
Melchett Award
The Melchett Award is presented to an individual for an outstanding contribution to the study or advancement of the science of fuel and energy. Nominations are endorsed by the EI President and discussed within Council and can be proposed by anyone working within the Energy Institute's committee structure. A nomination is agreed and then proposed by the President for acceptance to the Council of the Energy Institute.
In 2011, the Melchett lecture was given to Professor Allan Jones, UK Country Director, E.ON New Build & Technology.
Cadman Memorial Medal
The Cadman Memorial Fund commemorates the late Lord Cadman of Silverdale, Chairman of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (now BP) and Past President of the Institute of Petroleum, one of the EI’s founding organisations. The fund provides for the endowment of a Memorial Lecture on an aspect of the science of petroleum and the presentation of a Memorial Medal, and is made on an international basis for outstanding service to the petroleum industry.
The last winner of the Cadman Memorial Medal was Sir Ian Wood, Chairman, Wood Group in 2009.
