				<description><![CDATA[Cockle Park Farm is a 262ha mixed farm situated about 18 miles north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and is owned by Newcastle University. It is also home to the newly installed anaerobic digestion plant, which will generate heat, electricity and digestate - an organic fertiliser from the farm's pig and cattle manure.

				<title><![CDATA[District heating and the Leicester District Energy Scheme]]></title>
				<description><![CDATA[The mixed use nature of building developments, their phasing and ambition to low/zero carbon, brings a requirement for a more holistic consideration of efficient energy generation, which moves away from the traditional approach of looking at energy generation on a building by building basis. A rapidly emerging technology, which is meeting this change in the UK, is district heating which typically supplies both the space heat and hot water demand of a development via an underground heat network.

				<description><![CDATA[Plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) could contribute substantially to reductions in transport CO2 emissions but widespread uptake will require positive responses from mass market consumers.  This lecture will look at the problems in estimating the potential uptake of EVs, since most consumer drivers have had no experience of them.
