Claudio Descalzi announced as keynote speaker at IP Week dinner
The keynote speaker and guest of honour at the International Petroleum (IP) Week's prestigious annual dinner will be Claudio Descalzi, Chief Operating Officer - Exploration and Production (E&P), Eni.
Mr Descalzi will address over 1,000 guests at the IP Week Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on Wednesday, 20 February.
IP Week is organised by the Energy Institute (EI) and takes place on 18-20 February 2013 in London, UK. Over the three days, the IP Week programme will discuss global energy security, oil and gas developments in emerging regions, and the strategic role of technology.
Claudio Descalzi has been Chief Operating Officer of Eni – E&P – since July 2008. In 1979 he graduated in Physics at the Milan Polytechnic University. He joined Eni in 1981 as Oil & Gas Field Petroleum Engineering and Project Manager.
In his first role, he followed the development of several fields in Italy and abroad, in particular in the North Sea, Libya, Nigeria and Congo. He progressed throughout the organisation holding a variety of positions including Head of Reservoir and Operating Activities for Italy and Executive Vice President for Africa, Middle East and China.
