Terms & Conditions

When completing the online booking form, the purchaser is liable for full payment of the event/training course fee.  Full payment must be received before place(s) can be guaranteed.

Under UK Excise Regulations delegates from all countries are required to pay VAT on any event/training course taking place in the UK. The Energy Institute is registered in England under No. 1097899 at 61 New Cavendish Street, London W1G 7AR, UK. 

Cancellation charges:

Conferences and events
In the event of cancellation of attendance by the ticket purchaser, a refund, less 20% administration charge of the total monies due, will be made provided that notice of cancellation is received in writing a month before the date of the event.
No refunds will be paid, or invoices cancelled after this date. 

Training courses
In the event of cancellation of attendance by the ticket purchaser, a refund, less £250 administration charge will be made provided that notice of cancellation is received in writing a month before the date of the event. No refunds will be paid, or invoices cancelled after this date.

Confirmations
Confirmation of registration and joining instructions will be sent to all delegates in advance of the event/training course. If these are not received one week prior to the event please contact the EI Events/Training team.
 

The EI reserves the right to change and amend the speakers/presentations, venue and timings as necessary. In the unlikely event that it being found necessary, for whatever reason for an element of the programme is cancelled the EI shall not be liable for any expenditure, damage or loss incurred by the delegate, including their delegate fee.

Substiutions and transfers
If you are unable to attend an event you have registered for, as substitute delegate may attend in your place, provided the EI Events/Training team is notified in writing in advance.  If the delegate would prefer to transfer to a different training course date, this will be administered at no extra charge provided that notice is received in writing at least 25 working days prior to the start of the course originally booked, and that there are spaces available on the desired course dates. No transfers will be permitted after this date. 

Bookings may be made online up until the day before the event/course. If you register online after 12 noon the day prior to the event, please arrive at the venue with your reciept as proof of registration.

Data Protection Act
The EI never sells its membership and customer information to third parties. However our members and customers will expect us to provide them with regular useful communications that might be of use to them either from EI or its specifically chosen partners.

The EI will hold your personal data on its computer database. This information may be accessed, retrieved and used by the EI and its associates for normal administrative purposes. Your data may be managed by a third party in the capacity of a list processor only and the data owner will at all times be the EI.

Marketing preferences

At the time of booking, delegates will be asked to state their marketing preferences. 

General
The Energy Institute (EI) cannot accept any liability for any loss, cost or expense suffered by any person arising from reason of war, including threat of war, riots and civil strife, terrorism or threats thereof, natural disaster, weather, fire, flood, drought, technical, mechanical or electrical breakdown within any premises visited by delegates in connection with any event organized by the EI, non-provision of services provided by hotel companies or transport operators, industrial disputes, governmental action, regulations, or technical problems which may affect the services provided in connection with the event. The right to exclude any delegate, guest or substitution and to reject any application for registration is reserved.
