EI technical guidelines and standards
The range of EI technical publications available on EI publications online are produced from work carried out within the Technical Team of the EI, funded by EI Technical Partners. The EI Technical Work Programme provides industry with cost-effective, value-adding knowledge on key current and future issues affecting those operating in the energy sector, both in the UK and internationally. For the purpose of disseminating guidance and good industry practice as widely as possible, some publications are available to download for free.
EI publishing partnerships
The EI has developed successful publishing partnerships with a number of organisations worldwide, including the American Publishing Institute (API), Croner, Elsevier, the Environment Agency (EA), the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), John Wiley, Shell, Centre for Global Energy Studies (CGES), Oil and Gas UK (O&GUK), the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the World Petroleum Council (WPC). Hearts and Minds toolkit
The Hearts and Minds safety programme was developed by Shell E&P in 2002 and is being successfully applied in companies around the world. The programme uses a range of tools and techniques to help organisations improve their safety culture. With tools suitable for senior managers, team leaders and the workforce at all levels, the toolkit addresses topics such as understanding your culture, seeing yourself as others see you, making change last, risk assessment, achieving situation awareness, managing rule breaking, improving supervision, working safely, driving for excellence and learning from incidents.
