Module 4 - Energy regulations and standards

The Energy Regulations & Standards module will focus on how to make best use of regulations and standards for your organisation.  It will demonstrate how they are important and what the risks are of non-compliance.  It will also give advise on how to produce a register of energy regulations relating to your organisation’s energy use.

• What to do in order to be accredited
• Should it be externally accredited or internally verified

Learning objectives

By taking this module you will:

• Identify key UK & International bodies that introduce energy legislation &  regulations
• Be able to state differences & similarities between directives, regulations & standards
• Develop an understanding of the concept of carbon emissions, carbon trading and how they are
  regulated and reported upon
• Gain knowledge of key UK legislation & regulations governing energy use
• Develop an overview of forthcoming UK energy legislation
• Identify key UK, EU and international voluntary standards relating to energy
