ESOS Certification and Tools

What is ESOS?

The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) is a mandatory energy assessment scheme requiring most larger businesses to identify energy reduction measures. Under ESOS, all large companies must undertake an energy audit conducted or overseen by an approved Lead Assessor every four years.

To find out more about what ESOS is please click here.

ESOS certification

All those who have gained admittance onto either the EI's Register of Professional Energy Consultants (RPEC) or Chartered Energy Manager register are eligible to gain ESOS Lead Assessor status, enabling you to sign off on in-house and third-party ESOS assessments.

If you are on one of our registers, and would like to become certified as an ESOS Lead Assessor, please contact us at e: education@energyinst.org and we will be able to grant you access to complete the online certification process (please note there is a small processing fee of £50 +VAT).
