Young energy professionals driving the EI’s Generation 2050 initiative will hold an online webinar in the run-up to COP29 to discuss the climate crisis and the energy transitions unfolding in their different geographies.

In the lead-up to COP29 in Baku, join the Energy Institute's Generation 2050 initiative for an insightful webinar on accelerating the global energy transition.

Using the latest data from the EI’s Statistical Review Country Transition Tracker as a guide, the EI’s young professionals will explore how the energy story is unfolding in different ways around the world on the journey to global net zero emissions.

Representatives from the EI’s Young Professional Networks in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa will share and discuss their perspectives on the specific actions needed to speed up progress, regional challenges, and the critical outcomes we need from COP29 to ensure a sustainable energy future.

Generation 2050 is a professional initiative that challenges the industry's mindset to ensure it always thinks about developing the next generation, who will be the industry’s leaders in 2050. They will inherit a sector that will be judged on how it has responded, so it’s crucial that their knowledge is utilised and their concerns are heard.

Whether you are a policymaker, energy professional, or sustainability advocate, this discussion will provide a regionally diverse, data-driven window on the steps required to meet the urgent challenges of the climate emergency.
