Held in partnership with EI Knowledge Partner:
The mining sector is critical to the clean energy transition. Solar, wind and battery technology depend on the availability of critical minerals such as copper, lithium, nickel, and cobalt. Mining also remains essential for many other sectors of industry, such as construction. Yet at the same time, the mining industry as a whole is facing severe sustainability challenges, with regards to the management of energy, water, and land resources. If we are to succeed with decarbonisation, we need ecosystem collaboration to ensure that the mining sector can manage its sustainability challenges, with decarbonisation chief among them.
The speakers will explore:
- How value chain collaboration can take shape
- What are the blockers and enablers for mining decarbonisation?
- What is the role of digital technologies to accelerate sustainable mining?
