Co-hosted virtually by the EI’s President Steve Holliday FREng FEI and Chief Executive Dr Nick Wayth CEng FEI FIMechE, the expert judges praised the quality and diverse talent of the award winners, who showcased the ingenuity and creativity needed on the journey to net zero.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nick Wayth said:

“It’s been another challenging year, for organisations as well as the people who make them what they are, but I’m heartened by the resilience the energy industry has shown, underpinned by the talented workforce at its heart.

“The EI Awards are all about celebrating the very best achievements and the achievers in our field.”

Steve Holliday FREng FEI drew a direct connection with COP26:

“The task at the feet of our industry is to step up and play our part in driving the highest levels of ambition.

“This means working together to deliver further and faster emission reductions, but supporting people with the skills, knowledge and expertise to ensure a just transition that works for all.”

Alongside the innovative winners of the eight project categories, this year’s individual awards were presented to two high achievers. François Cazor, Co-Founder and CEO at Kpler won the Energy Leader Award. Jeanette Gitobu, Project Developer at Windlab became the EI’s new Young Energy Professional of the Year.
