Middle East Business Development Manager – EI Academy (FTC 6 months)

We’re looking for a results-driven, ambitious and experienced Business Development Manager located in the Middle East to focus on our training (EI Academy) offering in the region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in business development, training coordination and excellent commercial acumen to identify viable business opportunities.

This role is a fixed term contract (FTC) of 6 months and will be responsible for raising awareness of and selling EI Academy products and services to clients in the Middle East, coordination of local training activities and advising on the business development of training and professional development activities in the region. It requires someone who is a strategic thinker and well-connected in the energy sector to deliver maximum impact.

What you’ll do:

  1. Raise awareness of all EI Academy products and services within target local companies and individual customers, securing and following up on leads.
  2. Recruitment of corporate and individual training clients through calls, emails, media engagement etc.
  3. Act as first point of contact, customer service and sales representative for local training enquiries, delivering excellent service and upselling across the portfolio wherever possible.
  4. Recruitment of qualified local trainers to deliver face-to-face training courses in the region.
  5. Coordinate logistical arrangements for the delivery of face-to-face training courses, including liaison with venues and trainers and issuing joining instructions to delegates.
  6. Ensure all local scheduled face-to-face training courses run at a profit through the close monitoring of bookings, targets and rigorous lead follow-up.
  7. Advise on the business development of training and professional development activities in the region, by researching and providing reports on market potential trends, sales, customer needs / problems, competitor activities, and potential for new products and services to grow the EI’s portfolio for the local audience.
  8. Act as Secretariat to the Middle East Community Committee, coordinating and supporting committee activities, including volunteer recruitment.
  9. Look for opportunities to develop sponsorship/contra-deals/partnerships with appropriate organisations/events to raise the EI’s profile and expand EI’s training portfolio.
  10. Liaise with EI HQ around the production of marketing and promotional materials as necessary.
  11. Work with Management on any other tasks that may emerge as a result of the growth of the Middle East EI community or Institute as a whole, including Membership and Events.

Key performance indicators:

  1. Close relationships with 10+ companies and 3-5 EI Champions identified.
  2. Increasing ME audience recorded on CRM by 5-10%.
  3. At least 4 successful local training courses ran at profit annually.
  4. At least 1 successful event ran at profit annually.
  5. Sponsorship/Contra-deal arrangements with 3+ organisations to support EI growth in the region.

Daily Rate: £230 – £250 per day, depending on experience
