Booking for this event has now closed. The Energy Institute’s Young Professionals Network Student Event 2024, seeks to help provide you with some answers, clarity and certainty by exploring the energy transition and the opportunities it holds, with our expert panel.
The Energy Transition is a huge opportunity and growth for the North East of Scotland, and indeed internationally. However, it is a “transition”, and currently that is coupled with uncertainty and unknowns around what the future opportunities there are for Energy in the region. For those of you who are studying Energy courses, this gives rise to a dilemma: What opportunities are there for a career in this changing Energy landscape?
Our panel will answer your questions and discuss their own experiences, aiming to leave you with peace of mind, that no matter your chosen path, with the right skills and mindset, there are opportunities for each of you, here, in the North East, and further afield, throughout this Energy Transition.

"The difficult economic situation that we are going through must push loss-adjusting firms, based in Morocco, to open up more internationally. However, gaining the trust of the major players in the insurance industry, particularly in London, Paris or Munich, is not an easy task. Admittedly, the requirements are not the same, given the size of the Moroccan market, but we can try to get as close as possible to them by obtaining certificates recognised abroad. Therefore, I would like to thank the Energy Institute for the online training courses offered, rich in information on issues we often encounter in our business. "Before the course, I had a little professional experience in domestic zero-carbon energy technology but I was inexperienced in any other theory and practical topic, audits etc. This provided me with the building blocks to understand this, including the calculations, quickly. The course tutor, Chris was excellent in his teaching, knowledge and support. He made it easy to learn with his patient and insightful teaching style and very clear instructions. Chris provides individual support throughout the course and beyond which is incredibly valuable for someone like myself who is fairly new to the energy industry.
The trip to Southbank University was a great addition and allowed for some much-needed practical learning and informal bonding with fellow coursemates and Chris. The EI Team at the EI HQ were also great and popped in to check everyone is happy and to have a chat.
