The relationship between the Wind Turbine Safety Rules and your legal requirement for a safe system of work
There is a clear requirement in Health and Safety legislation that all work shall be carried out under a Safe System of Work.
Join us for an exclusive webinar, led by Ian Ord (WTSR Lead trainer), which will explore how the implementation of the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) provides the vehicle to apply a safe system of work at a wind turbine generator whilst complying with an organisation’s safety management system.
The implementation of the WTSR provides a single professional way of managing operational safety – giving owners a consistent and auditable process across their portfolio and giving OEM’s (original equipment manufacture's) or other turbine maintenance providers, a consistent and practicable approach across portfolio’s with different owners.
Implementation of the Wind Turbine Safety Rules
The WTSR:
- Identifies the boundary between the two distinct systems of the high voltage (HV) infrastructure and the wind turbines with their associated low voltage (LV) infrastructure.
- Allows for the electro-mechanical system to be formally defined, with the manufacturer providing the information (including all its components)
- Allows the manufacturer to identify the electro-mechanical hazards and risks, as well as the preparation of methods for isolating those risks when work is being carried out.
Competence is vital in all safe systems of work and the WTSR requires an understanding of the Wind Turbine Safety Rules aligned with technical skills. The Core WTSR training course provides consistent training along with the GWO safety training. Checking and monitoring the actual work being done and the WTSR processes are being applied correctly, confirms standards are being achieved and maintained.
