The EI Benevolent Fund (EIBF) helps members, former members, and their dependents experiencing hardship by providing financial assistance and confidential advice. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our committee and support the fund’s mission to assist those in need.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Energy Institute members while working alongside a compassionate and committed team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the effective management of the fund and support its activities.
- Participate in decision-making on welfare and educational assistance applications.
- Collaborate with fellow committee members and EI staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Promote an inclusive, supportive, and transparent committee culture.
Ideal Candidate:
- Enthusiastic about supporting individuals experiencing hardship.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Empathy and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Willingness to dedicate time to attend meetings and provide input as needed.
Commitment:
- Serve a 3-year term (renewable).
- Attend 3 committee meetings per year (held virtually or in person).
- Provide ad-hoc guidance on applications and participate in discussions throughout the year.
