The participation showcased our commitment to expanding the energy transition conversation across Malaysia's regions. Peter Godfrey, Managing Director of EI Asia-Pacific, also participated as one of the speakers at the 'Circular economy in energy sector' forum during the event.

The Energy Institute also took part in the future energy leaders programme, promoting the organisation’s work and encouraging participation from youth leaders and the next generation of energy professionals.

Alongside the exhibition, EI Malaysia hosted the Energy Institute mixer, which brought together more than 50 attendees from academia, government and industry, including senior leaders from across the sector. The event provided an excellent platform for discussion and networking, with many non-members expressing strong interest in the Energy Institute’s growing presence and activities in Malaysia.

Conversations throughout the event explored a wide range of topics, including energy transition, decarbonisation, nuclear energy, professional accreditation, technology and innovation. A key highlight of the event was the announcement of the Energy Institute Sarawak community, marking an important milestone in supporting regional ambitions for sustainability and the energy transition.

The strategic partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting a just and inclusive energy transition across Southeast Asia, while reinforcing collaboration between academia, industry and professional development organisations.

The agreement highlights EI Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to develop future-ready talent, enhance industry capability and promote lifelong learning within the evolving energy sector.
