A summary of the 100 largest property damage losses from the hydrocarbon extraction, transport, and processing industry between 1974 and 2019, based on the Marsh JLT Specialty’s 100 Largest Losses in the Hydrocarbon Industry publication.
A look back at our industry’s history, identify key issues and trends from large losses, and understand whether the industry is making progress.
The webinar will discuss what lessons can be learnt from the past two years, whether history is repeating itself 30 years on, and explore the correlation between a plant’s age and its impact on losses.There will also be a presentation of the EI’s leading work in Process Safety Management (PSM), and particularly, the upcoming 2nd edition of the Energy Institute’s PSM Framework.

"The difficult economic situation that we are going through must push loss-adjusting firms, based in Morocco, to open up more internationally. However, gaining the trust of the major players in the insurance industry, particularly in London, Paris or Munich, is not an easy task. "Before the course, I had a little professional experience in domestic zero-carbon energy technology but I was inexperienced in any other theory and practical topic, audits etc. This provided me with the building blocks to understand this, including the calculations, quickly. The course tutor, Chris was excellent in his teaching, knowledge and support. He made it easy to learn with his patient and insightful teaching style and very clear instructions.
