The “Learning Hack” workshop is focused on the importance of continual learning to build on your existing knowledge and competencies. Our speaker, Jessica Leigh Jones, who is a lifelong learner herself, will be sharing her insights on how to continue to learn and grow within your field. Join this session to get some tips on how to make the most out of your time, energy and money!

The 45 minutes session will discuss the following topics:

  1.        Importance of continual learning in Engineering
  2.        How to become a lifelong learner
  3.        Hints & Tips for making the most out of your time, energy, and wallet!
  4.        Q&A

This workshop is part of a series of virtual workshops run by the Young Professionals Network (YPN) of the Energy Institute’s Middle East branch to support young professionals in developing the right skills and competencies to keep up with the demands of tomorrow.

Speaker:

Jessica Leigh Jones MBE is a multi-award-winning Engineer and Astrophysicist. She is Co-Founder and CEO of iungo, a CareerTech Company democratising access to excellent careers for everyone. Jessica is also a Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor for Employability and Professional Skills at the University of Wales Trinity St David’s, where she is leading the flagship Enterprising Engineers Programme for engineering students and apprentices.

Jessica graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Astrophysics in 2015 and is a Chartered Quality Professional (CQP MCQI). She is a Non-Executive Director of Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) and Vice Chair of Wales’ largest exam board, WJEC. She is the Womenspire 2020 Board Member of the Year.

Jessica has received the Freedom of the City of London and represents the fastest progression to the rank of Liveryman at the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers. She was 2017’s Woman of the Future for Technology & Digital, featured in the 2020 Who’s Who list of influential British people and appeared as one of the youngest in the Forbes 30 under 30 Europe List 2018.
