Who are we?
The EI's Aberdeen, Highlands and Islands Young Professionals Network (YPN) was set up in 2011 as a local branch of young professionals volunteering to promote the Energy Institute. The Committee is formed by young professionals from a wide range of disciplines who work across the energy sector. All members of the committee volunteer their time to deliver events that help local young professionals to learn, network and grow. Our diverse and dynamic group meet every month to create, plan and deliver an exciting calendar of activities. These include, but are not limited to, expert panels, webinars, soft skills workshops, career talks, pub quizzes and our special Black Tie Dinner.

Why attend the AGM?
This is your opportunity to learn more about your local EI YPN branch and what the EI has to offer you, as an EI member or just as someone who is interested in the energy sector. We are delighted to be joined by Nick Wayth, the EI's CEO, who will explain some of the EI's career-boosting initiatives (like the mentoring scheme) and answer your questions through a Q&A. There will also be time to unveil our most exciting project of 2021 - the Future 500 Tour - and receive your ideas about which events we can deliver in 2022.

How can you get involved?
The AGM is also the time of year when we recruit new Committee Members. As a committee member you get to sculpt what the YPN provides, host events on topics you are passionate about, and build your network amongst established industry figures and peers.

Open positions:

- Treasurer
- Contracts specialist
- 2x general members

Applicants must be under 35 years of age and living in the Aberdeen, Highlands & Islands area in order to be able to deliver in-person events. All committee members must also be members of the Energy Institute.
