About this course:
This online course provides an overview of the means by which it is possible to identify energy-saving opportunities arising from improvements in a building's fabric. It will cover how to assess solar gains and the role of glazing, factors that impact on a building's demand for thermal energy, key passive design considerations, the role of computer software in design and certification of energy performance, and the performance gap - the difference between design expectations and operational performance.
This course is self-paced and can be started at any time.
Successful completion of this course results in the EI Level 2 Certificate in Building physics and thermal comfort.
This course also forms one of the modules of the EI's longer Level 2: Energy Management Professional course and qualification. If you would like to complete the full Level 2 qualification, please visit the full course page to book.
This course is assessed via a short online test following the course.
Who should take this course:
This course is recommended for those with 1-2 years' experience in energy management. Although there are no official prerequisites, it is recommended that you have at least A level maths or equivalent.
