About this course:

This online course provides an overview of the opportunities and considerations associated with on-site electricity generation. It will review the components, sizing, financial considerations, and use of diesel generators, CHP generators, and solar photovoltaic systems. You will learn how to identify the types of sites appropriate for wind turbines, the essentials of on-site electricity storage, and opportunities for improving the efficiency of on-site electricity generation.

This course is self-paced and can be started at any time.

Qualification:

Successful completion of this course results in the EI Level 2 Certificate in On-site electricity generation.

This course also forms one of the modules of the EI's longer Level 2: Energy Management Professional course and qualification. If you would like to complete the full Level 2 qualification, please visit the full course page to book.

Assessment:

This course is assessed via a short online test following the course.

Who should take this course:

This course is recommended for those with 1-2 years of experience in energy management. Although there are no official prerequisites, it is recommended that you have at least A-level maths or equivalent.
