Managing Britain's energy security in a volatile world: how do we ensure system resilience, and who should bear the costs?
Register now for this timely UK Energy Policy Debate. Please note that bookings close on 30 November at 17:00 GMT.
Against a backdrop of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, extreme weather, and rapid energy system transformation, this debate will examine how Britain can maintain a secure and resilient energy supply and who should bear the costs. Drawing together perspectives from government, system operators, infrastructure providers, industry, and climate experts, the panel will explore where vulnerabilities lie, what investment and technology will be required, and how the costs and risks should be shared between government, industry, and consumers.
- What resilience lessons have been learned from recent international energy shocks?
- How can system operators better anticipate and respond to future risks?
- Do current regulatory frameworks provide the right incentives for long-term resilience investments?
- Where should government intervene and where should markets be allowed to deliver?
- Who should bear the costs of ensuring system resilience?
