Saudi Aramco CEO calls phasing out oil and gas a ‘fantasy’

Saudi Aramco President and CEO Amin H Nasser said that the current energy transition strategy is ‘visibly failing’ on a number of fronts. The contentious remarks were made in the same week as a new report from IRENA concludes that an ‘urgent global course correction’ is needed to meet the COP28 goal of tripling renewables power capacity by 2030.
