Engineering Technicians qualified through the EI apply proven techniques and procedures to the solution of practical energy engineering problems. They may contribute to the design, development, manufacture, commissioning, decommissioning, operation or maintenance of products, equipment, processes or services and will have supervisory or technical responsibility. They have the experience and know-how to work effectively and creatively within defined fields of energy technology.
Before you apply
The first thing you need to do before applying for EngTech registration, is check that you have an Engineering Council approved Advanced/Modern Apprenticeship or an equivalent approved qualification. If you do not have one these, you can still apply, you just need to complete Interim EngTech registration first, before you apply for full EngTech registration. You can check your UK qualifications here: https://www.engc.org.uk/education-skills/course-search/. If you studied outside of the UK or are not sure about your qualifications and would like our help, please join us, and then complete the Interim Registration form - we can then advise you of next steps.
Why apply?
