Engineering Technicians (EngTech) apply proven techniques and procedures to solve real-world energy engineering problems. From design and development to commissioning, operation and maintenance, EngTechs have the skills and experience to work effectively and take supervisory or technical responsibility within defined areas of energy technology.
Benefits of being an Engineering Technician (EngTech)?

Who is it for?
If you solve practical engineering problems and “make things work”, EngTech registration could be your first professional qualification. You’ll need a foundation of technical knowledge and the ability to apply it — but you don’t necessarily need formal qualifications if you have substantial relevant experience.
Check your qualifications
You’ll usually need an Engineering Council-approved Advanced or Modern Apprenticeship, or an equivalent approved qualification.
Don't have one? Start with Interim EngTech Registration so we can assess your experience and advise on next steps.
