Overview:
This standard specifies a method using a polarized excitation XRF spectrometer (P-XRF) for the determination of total sulfur content of automotive fuels such as unleaded petrol, diesel fuel and other distillates, in the range from 6 mg/kg to 50 mg/kg. A fundamental assumption in this standard is that the standard and sample matrix is well matched. Matrix mismatch can be caused by C/H ratio differences between samples and standards or by the presence of other heteroatoms. The values stated in either SI units or angstrom units are to be regarded separately as standard.
