Underpinned by the resilience and sustainability agendas, Malaysia is fully committed to being a key part of the global transition to a low-carbon country and eventually reaching Net-Zero emissions by 2050. This is a significant challenge, particularly for the oil and gas industry, a large contributor to the Malaysian economy but at the same time inevitably one of the largest contributors to the release of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases (GHG). As a result, the industry undoubtedly has a significant role in curbing global warming to below 1.5. Becoming a Net-Zero emissions energy business means that the industry needs to operate consistently with Net-Zero ambition, reduce production emissions, and make serious progress on the solutions that can contribute towards Net-Zero.

With the theme of Net Zero Webinar 2021 aim to provide a platform to discuss related topics such as decarbonization, renewable energy, challenges and strategies needed to achieve Net-Zero in the oil and gas industry,
