Energy Policy Debate: Autumn Debate | Security of Supply, Systemic High Pricing Issues & Current Event Flexibility

Looking forward, not back: With another year of unforeseen events, and the highly political environment of Autumn 2022 - newly appointed Prime Minister, imminent party conferences and huge changes across the energy landscape – now, more than ever, is an important time to discuss how we remain flexible and resilient whilst responding to local and global events.

During the debate, speakers will examine security of supply, future implications of higher prices and the systemic risks that high prices create – system contagion, challenges to market liquidity, volatile wholesale markets, questions about ongoing viability of current market arrangements and participants, ultimately harm to the end consumer.

Market commentators and experts will share their views on what the scenarios and Government responses mean for the cost of living, investment in energy infrastructure and for the retail market.
