1545 EI 1545 Recommended practice for the defuelling of aircraft

Overview:

EI 1545 provides guidance on the requirements, risks and precautions necessary to conduct the defuelling of an aircraft into a vehicle tank (with a focus on the use of either a refuelling vehicle with the necessary equipment controls or a purpose-built vehicle for defuelling) or, in certain cases, a drum. It is not intended to provide detailed procedures for defuelling of specific aircraft types. Reference should always be made to the maintenance manual for a specific aircraft, in conjunction with the guidance in this recommended practice.

This publication is primarily aimed at into-plane fuelling companies that may be involved in defuelling, companies involved in aircraft maintenance, and aircraft operators.
