Overview:
The EI commissioned this report to address concern over the occurrence of a number of electrostatic ignition incidents associated with the loading of low sulphur diesel, a topic not addressed originally in the Model Code of Safe Practice Part 21: Guidelines for the control of hazards arising from static electricity, published in 1998.
The aim of this publication is to provide a record of the research carried out, data set, methods and assumptions to aid reference and provide a starting point for any work that may be undertaken in the future.
As part of our net zero commitments, the EI is a digital-first publisher. All publications can be easily downloaded in .pdf format from this site.
