3284 Guidelines for bunding of temporarily stored liquids offshore

Overview:

This publication sets out recommended good practice in determining bunding requirements for temporary storage of liquids in oil and gas operations offshore. It is intended to allow operators and duty holders of offshore installations to develop, strengthen and implement an appropriate bunding policy. It also aims to serve as a practical tool for operations personnel. As there may be other operational imperatives, this approach is risk-based to allow flexibility in application to all situations likely to arise offshore.

Enclosed with the publication is a poster which illustrates the bunding decision process and controls.

Implementation will demonstrate industry recognised good practice to offshore installation staff, auditors and regulators.
