Medical standards (MSs) and physical capacity assessments (PCAs) are common practice within organisations where job roles place physical demands on individuals. Both involve physical assessments, but each has evolved from a different perspective. Consequently, the results provide the examining expert and employers with different information regarding individuals’ suitability for employment. This technical note provides a description of MS, PCA and how they differ.
