HM 6. General guidance on the test methods for sulfur determination

Overview:

HM6 provides a synopsis of the laboratory test methods for the determination of sulfur content for use in the quality control of petroleum and petroleum products. The purpose of this document is to provide industry users with an easy to access reference guide on sulfur test methods that are commonly employed in the certification process of oil, refined petroleum products and petrochemicals within the oil and gas industry.

The document aims to specifically highlight the following:

• test method scope (or range);
• applicable products, and

The document includes references of related or technically equivalent standards published by various standardisation bodies, such as, IP, EN, ISO, API, ASTM, AFNOR and DIN.
