Mike is an experienced energy consultant and has carried out a large number of ESOS assessments in the earlier phases. He has worked extensively with the Carbon Trust following a career in the chemical industry. Mike is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Energy Institute and Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Cambridge University. Mike has a wide range of expertise from leisure centres (papers published at the CIBSE Technical Symposia and developed computer models of swimming pool energy use) to waste-to-energy systems (patent holder), pharmaceutical manufacturing to iron foundries, schools and offices to chemicals, power generation, oil and gas. Mike has Chaired of the EI’s Energy Efficiency Conference and Chaired the EI’s Energy Management Panel. Mike believes there is still plenty of “low-hanging fruit” in terms of energy savings opportunities, together with many exciting financially viable new technologies.
