3466 EI Research report: Aviation fuel hydrant pit box loading

Overview:

This EI Research Report provides a review of the surface loads that aviation fuel hydrant pit box lids are subject to. It also recommends a test regime to be implemented by pit lid manufacturer’s for each production batch of new lids to prevent pit lid collapse under load when in service.

This EI Research Report is intended to assist all those involved in the design, construction, operation, inspection and maintenance of aviation fuel hydrant systems.

The recommendations of this EI Research Report will be incorporated into the sixth edition of EI 1540 (in preparation).
