Overview:
This guidance has been produced to inform good practice when undertaking best available techniques (BAT) assessments for offshore combustion equipment on oil and gas installations. It presents an approach which addresses both combustion equipment selection and environmental assessment in a consistent manner, making it straightforward to follow the decision-making processes around BAT evaluation in the selection of combustion equipment.
The BAT process is used to drive environmental good practice dynamically by periodic reiteration. It is also required for regulatory compliance and can lead to benefits to operators through energy efficiency improvements and therefore reductions in operational expenditure.
