Overview:
Introduction
Waxy distillates are used as catalytic feedstock and the metals determined in this test method can, if the concentrations are high enough, poison the catalyst and deplete its life and efficiency.
Scope
This standard specifies a method for determining the sodium, vanadium, nickel, copper and iron content of vacuum gas oils/waxy distillates in the concentration range 0,1 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg by means of atomic absorption spectrophotometry or inductively coupled plasma emission spectrophotometry.
