Renewables and Emerging Technologies

To meet the world’s climate and sustainability goals, renewable energy deployment must accelerate in all sectors. To support this growth, the energy workforce needs to grow and change at scale; on a trajectory to net zero by 2050, the IEA report points to 14 million new clean energy jobs being created globally by 2030, plus another 16 million workers shifting across to new roles related to clean energy.

The EI’s training courses in emerging and renewable technologies are designed to equip the current and future energy workforce with the right skills and expertise required for a just global transition to net zero; so, whether you are hoping to work in renewable energy, or a new recruit to the industry or a conventional energy professional looking to chart a path to a different sector, the EI can support your journey by helping you upskill or reskill for the transition.

Offshore Wind Learning

The offshore wind industry is growing rapidly – estimates predict that around 1 million people will need to join the sector in the next decade to help deliver the renewable electricity generation capacity that the world needs to achieve net zero.

This means tripling the amount of people working in the industry over the next five years. A skilled and knowledgeable workforce is key to the long-term success and sustainability of the offshore wind industry.

To help fill this skills and knowledge gap and attract more people to this booming industry, a team of leading offshore wind experts with a combined 45 years of experience have come together to develop a comprehensive foundational online learning course on offshore wind. The EI is proud to support this course as a founding partner and help accelerate the growth of a skilled offshore wind workforce.
