Interim Registration (Engineer)
Apply offlineInterim Registration (Engineer)
Planning to work towards CEng, IEng or EngTech in energy? Get your first professional engineering title now!
If you are thinking of applying to become a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or an Engineering Technician at some point in the future, getting your knowledge and understanding recognised is the first step on your journey.
Why apply?
Demonstrating your foundation knowledge, understanding and skills is essential for all Engineering registration applicants. Interim Registration recognises that you have already met the educational requirements set by the Engineering Council for those working in engineering. It helps you to demonstrate to employers and society, that you are committed to building your professional career and gives you your first professional title.
You can apply for EngTech, IEng or CEng Interim Registration to demonstrate that you are part way to full professional registration. If you are already professionally registered you can use it as a stepping stone to help you move from one type of engineering registration to another.
Who is it for?
If you do not have qualifications which are automatically recognised by the Engineering Council, you will need to apply for Interim registration so that we can look at your other qualifications and experience to confirm that you meet the same standards as those with recognised qualifications, or provide you with advice on how to fill in any gaps.
If you have graduated from University but are yet to gain the professional experience required for full registration, Interim registration gives you your first professional title showing that you are already part way towards achieving full registration.
Accredited Qualifications?
If you hold qualifications that are accredited for the registration you wish to apply for, you may be automatically eligible for successful recognition based on your qualifications.
The first step to applying for Interim Registration is to become an AMEI. Once you're an AMEI, you can start your application for Interim Registration by downloading the application pack.
